PSA: Dissidia and ACC: Reunion Tracks OSTs on US iTunes

Advent Children Complete Reunion Tracks featuring music from the new cut of the film and the On The Way To A Smile anime has been added to US iTunes. It's hiding away on a different Nobuo Uematsu artist page than the one with the rest of the FF soundtracks. And it's only $9.99! Without me importing it first!

Similarly, the Dissidia soundtrack -- complete with shitty emo tracks -- is also available under SQUARE ENIX MUSIC for $15.99. The only track worth buying is the newly-re-arranged FFIX battle theme. It's like a crazy dance mix only not.

I have no idea why I'm awake.

PSA: Rule/Sparkle Available Internationally

Ayu's new single Rule/Sparkle is available for purchase on US iTunes. The single is available in three different versions, each with different b-sides (unfortunately, the PV included with the "CD+DVD" version is not up for download). This is the first time her music has received a simultaneous release in Japan and US.

Check out Ayumi Hamasaki's artist page on US iTunes

Edit: Checked some international stores; it looks like this single was released to all versions of the iTunes Music Store like GUILTY.

PSA: ACC (Possible) US Version?

Kotaku is reporting a trailer posted on GameTrailers that is allegedly for a North American version of Advent Children Complete. This version will be released simultaneously internationally. But we've heard promises like these before.

We knew the Japanese version came with an English language track, but the trailer has no new dialogue in English (and has a shitty, Albert Wesker-esque narration). I would write this off as a fake if the trailer wasn't listed alongside other "official" (or otherwise not user-submitted) trailers on GameTrailers.com. However, keep in mind that Square Enix has said nothing about it on its official site. Until a press release is posted on Square North America or Square Enix Holdings, consider this a rumor.

Hopefully it'll be confirmed/denied by Square corporate in a few hours and this won't be AC all over again.

Related Edit: Still no confirmation on the alleged US release, but the Japanese version at least will definitely come with a new anime OVA retelling the "Case of Denzel" story (FF7AC reunion).

State of the Peach and Ayu News

Classes begin again today and the Peach-Arrow Network will again enter it's semi-comatose state (not that it was updated much over the break). Fanlistings and Ayu news will continue to be updated regularly, and I'll continue to chip away at the new content at Strife until I have time to really invest in my projects.

Ayu-Vogue has been the only site consistently updated through the break with news updates, including one today.

PSA: New Dissidia Gameplay While We're At It

New Tidus vs Jecht movie available on the official site. The extended gameplay trailers look like the same organized chaos the Kingdom Hearts battles were. I like that very much.

As an exhausted aside: I hate that Jecht is the villain representing FFX. The whole "needed Jecht to have Tidus as the hero" logic is bullshit. It totally wastes the father-son dynamic that should have been used for FFXII with the more twisted and charismatic Balthier and Cid, and Jecht is... not really the villain. He's a Douchebag Deadbeat Dad masquerading as a Super Villain. Being posessed to become Giant Whale of Eeevil doesn't really count in my book--and appears to be irrelvant to Dissidia, though maybe they'll surprise us. It should have been Yuna (with the option of turning to her less obnoxious, gun-totting self) versus Seymour. That'd shake up the gameplay (so not everyone's using some variation of Giant Sword X), and create a feud that actually elicits, you know, some kind of danger.

PSA: J-pop Collections! Square Enix Finally Acknowledges Its Biggest Potential Market!

(now public for your viewing pleasure)

I belatedly discovered this Toy for J-pop Bragging Rights. Although not totally complete, it has a hefty, interactive database of J-pop to choose from (and options to add more). Now I only hope I haven't condemned it by plugging it. All music collection communities seem to crash after I set up an account.

And: HEY SQUARE-ENIX IS ACTUALLY TARGETING WOMEN WITH A SPECIAL EMAIL CAMPAIGN. Too bad they started with the wrong franchise. I hope this is a sign of things to come.
