State of the Peach: Where Are My Updates?!

Now that we are quickly approaching our second Will, Strife and Ayu-Vogue discography update deadline, I figure it's time for an explanation as to what I've been up to.

After spending the better part of six months on a thesis, I graduated last June and thought I'd have a couple of months off to leisurely make updates here. That has obviously not been the case. At this time, I do not foresee any significant content updates being made until September at the earliest. Will will take the backseat to Strife.

I appreciate your patience and hope to have a better game plan (and something to show for it) later this year.

Strife, Will, and the Peachy Projects list have been updated to reflect this prolonged informational hiatus. Fanlistings will continue to be updated regularly.

State of the Peach: It ain't over till it's over

I have three more weeks of classes. Given the sheer volume of work I have to wrap up in this time, I'm going to unofficially add a month to all ACC and Ayu-Vogue Discography revamp projects.

After graduation in June, the content revamp schedule will be as follows (in order of priority)
  1. 7th Heaven
  2. Will
  3. Strife
  4. Ayu-Vogue merchandise and analog discography
I don't foresee Sunshine being significantly edited after ACC, so it may have its update earlier than 7th Heaven or Will, and NEVER EVER will most likely remain AC-only until I feel like changing it. Grace is also scheduled to have a navigational revamp which will probably occur earlier than the projected content revamps, and the Super Secret Project will also likely be treated as a priority.

Gloriosa Galleries have officially migrated to the new MR! Museum, though the content links are kind of a mess. I'm really okay with that for now.

In conclusion: I'm going to stay in lurker mode for awhile still. Fanlisting members will still be added, and only big Ayu news will be reported.

PSA Regarding Avex Artists on iTunes

As some of you have undoubtedly noticed, all Avex artists (Ayumi Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, etc) have mysteriously disappeared from all iTunes stores outside of Japan. This is especially curious when some artists (like BoA and Monkey Majik) had Avex-distributed albums added to their US pages in the last two weeks, and the removal includes all "international" Avex singles like Anna Tsuchiya's special Resident Evil theme and EXILE's English song for Street Fighter 4. They were removed from the store on the eve of iTunes' official, store-wide conversion to DRM-free content, and this more than likely is not a coincidence. However, no official statement has been issued by Avex's corporate site.

I was reluctant to officially announce this change on my sites in hopes that everything would be straightened out by the end of the week (or two). In the meantime, it may behoove of you to request Ayu and other Avex artists on the iTunes Request Form.

In related news, you can still pick up BoA's English-language, self-titled debut if you haven't already.

PSA: ACC (Possible) US Version?

Kotaku is reporting a trailer posted on GameTrailers that is allegedly for a North American version of Advent Children Complete. This version will be released simultaneously internationally. But we've heard promises like these before.

We knew the Japanese version came with an English language track, but the trailer has no new dialogue in English (and has a shitty, Albert Wesker-esque narration). I would write this off as a fake if the trailer wasn't listed alongside other "official" (or otherwise not user-submitted) trailers on GameTrailers.com. However, keep in mind that Square Enix has said nothing about it on its official site. Until a press release is posted on Square North America or Square Enix Holdings, consider this a rumor.

Hopefully it'll be confirmed/denied by Square corporate in a few hours and this won't be AC all over again.

Related Edit: Still no confirmation on the alleged US release, but the Japanese version at least will definitely come with a new anime OVA retelling the "Case of Denzel" story (FF7AC reunion).

State of the Peach and Ayu News

Classes begin again today and the Peach-Arrow Network will again enter it's semi-comatose state (not that it was updated much over the break). Fanlistings and Ayu news will continue to be updated regularly, and I'll continue to chip away at the new content at Strife until I have time to really invest in my projects.

Ayu-Vogue has been the only site consistently updated through the break with news updates, including one today.

State of the Peach: Revisited

Yeah, nothing's going to get done this quarter. I'll do my best to get the first phase of the Ayu-Vogue revamp (new discography and layout) up by next week Friday, and there will be a few housekeeping issues addressed later today, but no other major projects will receive significant attention until December.

State of the Peach: Classes Begin

The autumn quarter begins tomorrow, bringing the Peach-Arrow Network's Summer Progress to an end.  I will be busy with an independent study on top of my usually classes, but I will spend my extra time on the following network projects:
  1. The Ayu-Vogue Network Discography is currently under-going a major overhaul. This will hopefully be uploaded in October. Other sections will follow (time allowing).
  2. The Midgar-Rock Organization revamp will continue. All artwork and screen captures (+new ones) have been moved to the new database, and the scope of the informational sections is in the processes of being refined to contextualize shrines rather than compete with them.
  3. Any leftover energy will be alloted to Melody

State of the Peach: Database Issues

Peach-Arrow Network database is totally broken, so all fanlistings, galleries, and the Ayu-Vogue news blog are all down.

Host has been notified and hopefully everything will be straightened up soon. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Edit: Haven't heard back from our host, but they seem to have worked their magic anyway. Please reply here or contact me if you have trouble with the fanlistings or news blog.

State of the Peach

Peach-ArrowNET has been pretty dormant for the last few months. I figure it's time to check in and make sure we're all on the same page.

No, Peach-ArrowNET and its family of sites have not been abandoned. I'm still working on things, but real life commitments (as they say) have slowed the progress. I am in the midst of a heavy academic quarter and will continue to attend classes through next spring (hopefully not so many at a time).

Because the Current Projects page is a more generalized, idealistic projection than anything else, here's an outline of what's actually being worked on:

  1. Currently Peach-ArrowNET is getting streamlined so as to make both updating and navigating the site list easier. This will probably (hopefully) be uploaded by the end of the month
  2. Instinct is having its discography revamped. A better layout should follow eventually, but I make no promises.
  3. Gloriosa's image galleries are being transferred to Gallery2 (see Ayu-VogueNET's gallery for an example). Making the whole domain public has been put on the backburner for awhile to focus on other projects.
  4. Ayu-VogueNET's shopping guide is being re-organized and dramatically amended to make it easier to navigate and more comprehensive
  5. Strife will have Crisis Core and 10th Anniversary Ultimania updates by July.
  6. When I feel Strife is in decent shape, Melody and Forget Me Not will receive their due attention.
The quarter ends in early June. Although the annual magazine has been shipped out to the printer, proof approved, etc, I still have four papers to finish by the end of the quarter. Do not expect any major updates until mid-June.

Fanlistings and Ayu-Vogue.net's news blog will continue to be updated regularly.

Thanks for your patience!

real updates!

The Jak II fanlisting/massive-run-on-sentence known as Payback! received a face lift and some of its old fansite content.

Uploaded part of NEVER EVER's layout that's been broken for, like, six months.

Forget Me Not now acknowledges Dissidia's existence with a ramble-y "intro" and screen caps.  Likewise, the media section has been divided to at least give the illusion that it isn't a cluttered mess.

Peach-ArrowNET
has a new link exchange and a new 50x50 button.  I also went through and cleaned up all fanlisting links.  Ayu fanlistings had an affiliate clean-out, and I'm making my way through the rest.
